No matter what your opinion of Schumacher's efforts, the sets were something out of this world.

I have added some new behind the scenes photos - and there are more to come.

The Forever sets were alright....could have done without the neon's though, it shows a flashly side of Gotham which worked with the movie he was making. B&R set on the other hand is an Abomination.

We know the look of Batman and Batman Returns was a tad different, but we can kind of reason its the same city due to the 'darkness' of both movies (me personally think they should have used the sets at pinewood again for the sequel, but sure).

So we come to Forever and the sets are a lot brighter than the first two due to the tone of the film.

Its hard for fans to contemplate Forever being a direct sequel to Returns, first off because of Val kilmer in the title role, the lighter tone of the overall movie and of course the neon lights!

But I think I can reason in ones mind the presence of such lights.

In Batman we here Commishioner Gordan saying "The businesses might stay away Mayor they're scared"
To which the Mayor replies "You get Grissom in that courthouse and the bussinesses will come back here. I promise that, remember."

So the Joker takes over the city (half of the businesses he owns or are racketeering for the Joker. All the decent businesses are gone). So when the Joker dies, the police hit the crime businesses and crime is being cleaned up. More honest businessmen come to Gotham, set up shop and invest because of the crime going down.

By Returns Gotham is a city on the up. Theres not as much crime and it is a prosparing city. Max Schriek has came to Gotham and opened a lot of businesses creating Jobs and he in the public eyes is a hero to Gotham. As the Mayor of Returns says, "Gothams very own Santa Claus"

But underneath Schriek is a crook, he is taking a different approach than Grissom, Napier or the Joker. He is on the 'inside'. Minipulating powerful political leaders like the mayor to get his own way, but one person he can't minipulate is Bruce Wayne.

Remember in Returns Schriek indicates the direction Gotham is going when talking about his plan about the powerplant "Imagine Gotham, blinking on and off like christmas tree lights, embarressingly low on juice - frankly I cringe Mr. Mayor."

Schriek indicates with all the new investment in Gotham that  it will be light up - with neon lights to make t more attractive and proporous!

Thsi is my reasoning for Forever being light up, unlike Batman and Returns.

Sorry that was a bit long winded, but I had to express it lol

But in saying that after watching Forever latley, I see it as a seperate fim to Batman and Returns.

Gotham looks somewhat similar in BR and BF, BF is just alot brighter and more futuristic looking.

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.

I like that reasoning Joker81.

Thanks Raleagh, and thanks for reading! lol
;D

Great Pics! I'll add these to my folder.
Thanks.

Here is a pair of pretty cool on set pics taken of the batboat.
These are original pics taken by a crewmember.
They are pretty cool... Notice the emblem on the steering wheel.
