I read that More Stars Have Been Cast In The Dark Knight Rises.
Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and Joey King have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Let's hope they don't over do it, you may need a 3hr running time to get through the story, LOL.

I strongly suspect some of these will be cameo type appearances. Here and there, flouting around in the background.

Showbiz 411 claims that Modine is playing a "politician and a key villain" named Nixon.

To be honest, if his character's really named Nixon and he's a politician, I think that's way too on-the-nose, but I digress.  Here's a write-up by IGN on what kind of character Nixon could be if the reports are true:

Given what happened at the end of The Dark Knight, I think it's natural for there to be an anti-Batman politician kind of character.  Nestor Carbonell is returning to play the Mayor and could have filled that kind of role, but maybe "Nixon" is more of a corrupt Rupert Thorne type character.

I also have a feeling that Modine's role was intended for Treat Williams, who said in an interview that he was offered, but unable to take a part in the Dark Knight Rises: http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/everwoods-treat-williams-televisions-next-top-cop.html
Williams and Modine have a similar look and are both in their fifties.
That awkward moment when you remember the only Batman who's never killed is George Clooney...

I agree. I don't like the name choice at all.
