If you have BBC America on your cable provider, they'll be showing Batman '89 on April 7th at 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 central time.

Wait, the British Broadcasting Corporation has an American channel, what the hell, lol

I saw some of it, they shortened scenes like the drive to the Batcave.  >:(

Sounds pointless. How did they handle it?

The stopping point for me was when they cut out my favorite Bat-Moment from the film, when he decends down upon the two hoods and harpoons the one over the rail.

What is the point of showing the film at all when incidental moments are cut? We are not talking about graphic violence, nudity or foul language here. These cuts are almost like they had to condense it down due to a strict time limit or something. By not showing Batman's entry, it changes the context of the scene. Are we meant to believe Batman was already lurking around inside Axis Chemicals for quite some time beforehand?

The OP beat me to posting this premiere. And yes, they would have definitely cut out some scenes to accomodate the commercials etc. That's one thing I dislike about network tv. I am just happy that after almost 22 years, this film is still having big premieres on various channels, especially the newer ones. They are also premiering the first X-Files film that came out in 98' today (Saturday), but it didn't advertise nearly as much as Batman '89. Pretty cool commercial too, you guys saw it?

They simply cut out the part where Batman floors it through a straightaway, the jump in the music got my attention.

That drive to the batcave is one of the most iconic scenes in the entire bat-franchise, including Nolan's, how dare they cut that short!

It's showing again on April 24th at 8pm with an Encore at 10:30 pm. The Royal Wedding is on the 25th so a friend of mine (who loves Batman) commented that they are showing the Big Slam Bang before the Big Wam Bam.   :D
