Batman catches Rachael on her way down only to smash into a taxi, and fell the same distance (looked like less than before) that Two-Face did at the end and Batman lived through both.

I had such a problem with that especially since most of the previous Batman movies included Batman grappling himself out of a fall. Its like have we not payed attention? falling from up high...kills us...

Absolutely. The film exaggerated the Batsuit's shock absorption. I mean, wearing such a costume would have some effect. But not to the extent of what the film shows. A fall from such a height is still going to cause major damage to the human body.
