you may be right about his suicide not being a factor on why he wasn't on Returns...I'm actually a  little fuzzy on the exact issue of why he wasn't on board...I'm still trying to locate the Rolling Stone article to be sure as I'm positive the reason is explained in ther...and Batman Returns started shooting on September 3rd 1991 - December 31th 1991 ...a I own a copy of the shooting schedule used for the movie and it outlines the day, time and actors needed for the shots and the last day of shooting for the actors was on December 31st

Anton Furst commited sucide on 24th November 1991.

Production on Returns began during the summer of 1991.

I'm a little surprised I didn't find this out any sooner. Is there any mention of this on the SE DVD?

I don't think so. It's probably a good thing they didn't because it would have been really sad. We miss you Anton--RIP

Returns at Pinewood sounds great, but I appreciate what we got in Burbank. Bottom line, they both looked almost EXACTLY like New York City, which is how Gotham City is supposed to look.

But I feel sorry for Mr. Furst. It's a sad shame that a breakup led to his suicide. :(

Is that why he commited suicide??

He was in a relationship w/ Beverly D'Angelo, but it ended. He must've been very sensitive.  :'(

I think the sets in Returns are marvelous, but the problem is that most of the action takes place in one spot and it feels like a very small town or plaza with a couple of people, rather than a huge NY type of a city

You know, Anton does bare a striking resemblance to Tommy Wiseau and if you've seen The Room, you know what I'm talking about...

yeah i like pinewood the best i had more of that dark batman feel to it
