I must check that out.
You sure its definatley a nod to elfman?

well......i don't know  :-\

If it is, it is an absolutely minuscule one.

The "Mystery" ostinato in the middle of "I'm Not a Hero" is so obvious that even a friend of mine recognized it when I played it for him :)

Also, listen again sometime track 16 (Dark Knight) at 7:10-8:14. The reference is too obvious... and we are well aware of the fact that Zimmer akndowledged Elfman's "happy jolly" theme in some interviews.

I have listened to this, I think yous are wrong, it doesnt sound like the start of descent into mystery at all.
But I know where yous are coming from.

Track 16 simply repeats the 5 note Batman theme several times between approx. 7:10--->8:20. I seems like I obsess, but the theme is indeed there, played slowly and hidden behind walls of sound. If you are familiar with Hans Zimmer's body of work as well as interviews over the years, he is far from a serious classicaly trained composer that writes for films - he has a pop/rock background as a musician and a great sense of humor.

Track 16?  There only are 14 tracks.

Lol... I meant 14. It's 16 minutes long and messed them up.

I've been listening to this soundtrack recently, and I've been reminded how much I like it. Why So Serious is a great track, perfect for Heath's Joker!
