When I was younger it used to be Jack Nicholsons performance I loved. But when I got older, I realised it wasnt just Nicholson I loved. It was everything that was 'Batman'. It was the sets, props, costumes, Gotham City, the music! When I was a kid I used to put that soundtrack on my earphones in bed and watch out at the night sky! I loved it.

Absolutely. B89 is definitely a great example of a 10-pole movie. The sets and music were unforgettable. Keaton and Nicholson were perfect. When I first saw this movie as a kid, I had no idea who Jack Nicholson was. I thought he was a no-name actor hired for the part. That is one of the reasons why he frightened me so much. Being a kid, not knowing he was an acclaimed movie star and him being introduced as a ruthless criminal who becomes much more dangerous and wearing that frozen smile with make-up. And those wonderful toys (I still want a speargun!)

There really are no words to describe the music. I don't listen to the score-album anymore because I think it sounds better on film. That sounds like a great way to escape though. I'll bet now is the best time of year for listening to that score.  :)

What I like about Batman is that universe we are brought into when I watch it. The dark and moody atmosphere. That is something TDK can not do for me.

I agree, Burton's Gotham City is still the best to date.

Personally I liked 89's Gotham alot better than BR's, it looked kinda cheesy and you can tell it was filmed on a sound stage!

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.

Siskel was about to slap Ebert.lol. Ebert would hardly allow Siskel to talk. Batman (89) is a very excellent film. But there are certain elements that don't work within the film, that much I can agree on. Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton's performances are very enjoyable to watch which is why I think I like the film so much.

Yeah definatley! And in the Irish climate here it is just like Gotham City with the cloudy blue/black skies! lol Its great when you get a full moon!

Autum is defo my fav time of year.

Autumn is also my favorite time of the year, it always seemed that 89 had a very fall feel to it.

Batman(89) is perfect to watch during the autumn season. Then again, it's great to watch anytime!

But I don't think I would listen to the soundtrack all the time. Don't get me wrong I love Danny Elfman's score. But the only movie scores I ever listened to were the John Williams Star Wars soundtracks, more specifically the Episode I score. Those just about do it for me. But that's a whole different story......that doesn't belong on this site;)

"Jack is dead my friend. You can call me, Joker. And, as you can see, I'm a lot happier."

I listen to both of Elfmans scores atleast once a week when I take runs with my dog!
