R. Kelly's Gotham City

I've finally listened to R. Kelly's Gotham City song from the B&R soundtrack. And now I've found these two music videos for two versions of the song.

The lyrics for the original song seem like Gotham can move on without needing Batman.

I like how Kelly "took this remix and rearranged it" for the second video, with shots of Batman and the Batmobile. 

But I don't quite see how the ghetto life has anything to do with the Batman mythos.

The soundtrack actually went platinum so much of the film's spin off merchandise did quite well.

Considering that eight year gap was based on false pretenses which eventually backfired, the song doesn't deserve to be associated with such ignominy.
