I found this video and learned some surprising details about the Batmobile for BR.

I never knew this was a brand new car built for the movie, I always thought this was the same car from the first movie. I never realised how small the inside of the car was. I heard Keaton felt claustrophobic every time he wore the Batsuit - I can't imagine how sick he must've felt when he drove the car!
QuoteJonathan Nolan: He [Batman] has this one rule, as the Joker says in The Dark Knight. But he does wind up breaking it. Does he break it in the third film?

Christopher Nolan: He breaks it in...

Jonathan Nolan: ...the first two.

Here's another video of Jeff Dunham driving the Batmobile to a car expo.

According to Dunham, Keaton had to have the ears on his cowl trimmed down, so he could fit inside the car. That's not so hard to believe, sitting inside the car looks very crowded. It looks uncomfortable to drive as you have to rely on cameras to check for blindspots because of a lack of rear-view mirrors. You still have to love the wonders of movie magic, though.
