JoBlo Movie Trailers made a short video of chronicling the Burton films, using comics other media references .

While I haven't gotten around to watch the entire video yet, the conclusion suggests that while Burton was praised for the visuals and Keaton's portrayal is still highly regarded, the Burton films generally receive a "mixed" critical consensus because of the violent tone and emphasis of the villains came at the expense of the hero.
