In Raimi's films, Spidey acted liked a sock puppet even in costume. Andrew Garfield had more personality.

I found that with Maguire, there was too much disassociation between Peter Parker and Spider-man. It was forgettable at the time that it was the same person, partially because he does act differently when behind the mask; perhaps that's why they had him lose the mask so many times.

I also liked how they made Ben be more of a smart ass with Martin Sheen; they made Ben more of a role model and you can tell Peter takes after him in some respects.
