It's a Japanese film and the craziest one I've ever seen.

The first and probably only fantasy horror film. Even the trailer makes me go "WTF"

I tried watching this a few years ago, but switched it off after about forty minutes. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Now if you want to see a really good Japanese horror film, I recommend Masaki Kobayashi's expressionistic portmanteau picture Kwaidan (1964). Adapted from the short stories of Lafcadio Hearn, it was nominated for the Academy Award for 'Best Foreign Language Film' and won the 'Special Jury Prize' at the 1965 Cannes Film Festival. It's a visually stunning and authentically spooky chiller that ranks amongst the greatest anthology films ever made.
