I was just thinking about the work of Favreau on various films and must say that it has been a bit inconsistent at best. He did a good job
with Iron Man but fell down a little with the sequel, although it was said that the studio interfered with that film. My main point has to do with Cowboys and ALiens, IMO it;s one of the biggest Hollywood Blockbuster disappointments I've seen in a while. It had such an intriguing concept but the script and execution were below average. I think Favreau needs to to redeem himself from this film and become a major player, because I think he has talent abut he has to coral it and get the right projects.

Just my thought.

With Cowboys and Aliens, I felt He was afraid to truly have fun with the concept. I'm all for telling a serious story, but if there is intrinsic humor to be had, ironic or otherwise, then go for it. The only thing I didn't like about Iron Man 2 was all of the Avengers subplots, it made the film seem like an ad for that film instead of it's own film which, as Grissom said, was Marvels fault. I've not seen Elf, but I thoroughly enjoyed Zathura , and Iron Man is also in my top ten favorite comic book movies.
