I was in a local shop today and I saw the standard Batman Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

But what was interesting was the sticker on the front of the case-it said: 'A Selection Of The Music From The Motion Picture'

Could this be an indication that WB intend to release a complete recording of the Batman Soundtrack??

I have never seen this before. What to look for next is if the CD becomes hard to get and out of print......

it says the same on my cd and it's a few years old.

the dates are all 1989.  i have the LP at my parents house and i'm pretty sure it has the same sticker on it - i will check it on monday.

Well i bought the CD 10 years ago, maybe longer, 11/12 years ago and it didnt have that sticker. even over the years when i seen it in shops since it never had that sticker, and i collect soundtracks and have never seen anything like that stuck on them.

its a little strange they would do it now after all this time. Its like they are informing the public 'this is not the complete soundtrack, but 'selections' from the movie.'

Which made me think about maybe a full release is on the horizon, or to make a pun, on the cards lol

cds have been around since the early to mid 80's have they not?

I just read that Dire Straits had the first million selling CD in 1985 and Queen released their entire collection in 1986, so it's possible that the soundtrack was on CD initially.

I know it was 1993 when i got a CD player, but i was away behind the times.

100%

usually in that case, the cassettes and LP's determine the score for the CD - because edits have to be made in order to get both sides of the cassette and LP to be the same running time.
