I agree.

Instead of taking influences, say some Year One here, and some Long Halloween there, just outright film the damned things. Especially when it concerns the origin of Batman's career, like Begins and those comics do.

BB and TDK tried to take these things and make them their own. So a live action Long Halloween, for example, with mob cash being burned, is going to look like a TDK rehash.

This animated version could go either way. They do have excellent material already laid out for them. Ideally I'd like a panel by panel reconstruction. But we're not going to get that. I just hope they capture the comic and don't cut out the "meat". Short run times do that.
