Which Elfman Batman Soundtrack do you prefer?

Batman (1989)
Batman Returns

Ehh as much as I love Elfmans batman scores, they belong in the past, with the source material it fits with perfectly. Re-hashin stuff is boring.
Agreed. Leave these two scores as a cherished memory.
Exactly, I mean why re-hash something with another source that it dosent fit with perfectly, Elfman made those scores for Burton's film, for the style, feel and all around aura and nothing else other than those SPECIFIC batman films.

I have a great example too, watch the first Batman Forver trailer, and the first Batman & Robin trailer both films used the Elfman theme to hype up old school batman fans, and the music DID NOT fit well at all with the trailers, it made them almost laughable.

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.

It's been forever (haha) since I saw any BF trailers but I remember thinking the Elfman score fit certain shots pretty well.  They slowed down a pic of Robin on the island with his cape blowing in the wind with the triumph ending of B89 playing.  I thought it was fairly successful in certain shots.

And to whoever wrote that we should press on with the films and the franchise, A-FREAKING-MEN!!  I love the Burton era as much as (if not more than) the next guy but Batman is defined by evolution, tweaks, updates and new interpretations.  Let's see what's coming now, not what has already been done.

Now this is the kind of thinking that I can totally agree with!

I like the rest too, but this stuff sticks out.

The Batman Theme
Descent into Mystery
Up the Cathedral
Attack of the Batwing
Charge of the Batmobile
Batman to the Rescue
Batman Theme Reprise
Roof Fight
First Confrontation
The Bat Cave (This music is exactly how I feel the interior of the cave to be like)
Finale
Childhood Remembered
Flowers

Pretty much the whole thing! :P

The perfect musical snapshot of the character. Time to move forward, but we look back with great fondness, knowing it shall not be topped.

I was wondering if there's anyone who prefers the VHS transfer of the '89 score to the DVD transfer. I actually prefer the sound from the VHS but it's probably just nostalgia. Anyone else?

DVD quality for me.

I second that!

It looks like we're getting more and more signatures for the score petition. How many does anyone figure we would need to get WB to do this?

An exact answer would be...a lot!

Signed the petition. ;)

How many signatures are there so far?
Even the greatest masterpiece has its flaws.
