Which Elfman Batman Soundtrack do you prefer?

Batman (1989)
Batman Returns
Forever's soundtrack is not bad for what it sets out to achieve, but I still greatly prefer Elfman.

I think the first score was darker, but loved both really. The score from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are very different but good too.
I love those scores just as much as I do the Elfman scores, I even like the BF score too, and bring on the bashing I could care less lol!

THANK GOD!!! I thought I was alone. I like the Forever score too! Yes Elfman's scores were perfect, IMO, but that doesn't mean that Goldenthal's score didn't rock. I've heard somewhere that Elfman was somewhat mad about the quality of the Forever score. It does sound like his music but it is also original.

Honestly, I thought you were alone too.   :)

I appreciate when people can like more than one version or take on something, it shows they're open minded!

I have given a name to my pain, and it is BATMAN.

We need a release of the REAL Batman '89 score. The album released features recreations by that orchestra. If you listen to the movie and then the album, it's clearly different sounding at times. Look at the opening titles. The real version has a lot more power behind it in the drums and everything.

That was down to the dubbing on the movie.

Elfman has said he wasn't happy with how the movie was put together by sound engineers who "didn't care".

Thanks everyone.  I should have it up by Christmas at the latest since my semester will be over then.
Just to update those interested, I turned in the paper last week.  I should be getting it back next week and I will revise per my prof's comments and see how I can post it here.

The paper is LONG at 24.5 pages, which includes a one page introduction.
That awkward moment when you remember the only Batman who's never killed is George Clooney...

The more, the better! Can't wait to read it!!! :)

I've been listening to the Batman (1989) soundtrack again lately, and it is still my favourite. I very seriously doubt this Batman sound will ever be topped. It is just too good. That said, I do love TDK's soundtrack, especially the WSS track.

Its funny because I love the whole TDk soundtrack except I dont really fancy the WSS track that much. I agree though the 89 score will never be beat in anyway to me, it will always be the best.
