Hey brothers. Well, it's that time of the year again. =]

I thought I'd share some webcam shots of my new 89 build. (yes a new one, lol) This year, I'm going all latex. I find that the BD 89 armor in latex fits my frame better than the urethane one since it's shrunk a bit.
I'm just average height, so this stuff fits me a lot better, I think. I'll wait till I piece it all together before really deciding.

I'll update this thread and explain as much as i can to anyone with questions.
The cowl is an RD movie production copy. The cape is one I made last year which will be replaced shortly with an RD cape copy soon. =]

Further note, the torso is a latex Bob Dullam.  I'm still pushing for even more screen accurate appearance so my job is nearly there, in terms of the suit itself. Many many thanks to all the brothers out there who helped me make this happen.

This is really as close as I ever gotten, so far, mostly due to the actual cowl made for the film. I got the rest of the pieces laying on my bed. Just waiting on my under suit so I can mount it all up. =]

Also, last year I really concentrated on the whole Michael Keaton look. But this year, I will have more of Dave Lea in mind. I've been watching the movie and pausing it in many fight scenes. He looks beast! Hope I can manage that look.
So, I have to practice my posture and movements again. I dont just want to be a guy wearing the 89 suit. I want to BE the 89 Batman. *crosses geek fingers* :P

Rock on dudes!

Wowsers! Beautiful work on a real person. I saw this over at BOTB. Great job!
I am actually looking to make my gf the same costume for this year's Halloween. (yes I recently got a gf, yay  ;D ). And she's really excited about what I plan to put together.

I already rounded up all the parts except the mask and the corset.  I imagine, I will have to make that on my own. If I had a month of free time, I know I could do it right. But work has forced me to try and find some premade parts to put together.

Was that mask difficult to make? Is it sculpted and cast off a mold or actual vinyl material stitched together?

I would love more information on it and the corset. :)
If you ever have time, do let me know. This is pretty much the best Cat outfit I've seen. The model wears it very well too.  :)

My only real concern is that Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter will end up too similar to Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka.

How amazing would Michael Keaton, or Martin Short (who's played the role well before and gave a great performance in Mars Attacks!) have been as The Mad Hatter?

Martin Short as the Hatter again would be PERFECT today. The Mad Hatter is supposed to have a big head, funky nose and a goofy psychotic way of acting.
Johnny looks like the weird handsome version of that and thats why im not too hung up on him as the Hatter.

Martin has the right look IMHO and perfect acting abilities to do him justice.

Michael Keaton, OMG, Id be jumping with anticipation if he got that part. If we're getting a different Hatter than the classic traditional fairy tale, then Id rather go the route of "al la" Beetlejuice!

I really want to see Keaton do another Beetlejuice, but time is running out fast. Either they do one now, or forget about it all together.

Age sucks. If we aged slower, Id totally vote Keaton to be BATMAN again for a new 3rd installment. God, that would be sooo damn awesome.

I have an infatuation with the Matrix films. They have obtained my fullest respect. I love all three films.
I don't see any connection between them and Michael Keaton Batman.  :P

hey guys. just want to make clear this film does not deteriorate my love for Tim's first Batman nor Batman Returns.

I truly was hoping for something less happy looking. I really wanted McGees AIW. Judging how Tim pulled off Sweeney Todd (sp?) with the bloody mess from his killings, I imagined this would be in that same style.

When I saw Johnny Depp.. I honestly and not in a mean way felt "yawn..".
Remember, Im not a fan of everything Tim Burton but I do love many of his films. The Batman in particular.

And  Johnny Depp, though I liked him in Pirates and Edward, does very littel for me today.
