Title: Two Face really is dead (so says Eckart)

Dunno if any of you have seen this.

QuoteEckhart: No. I asked Chris [Nolan] that question and he goes, "You're dead" before I could even get the question out of my mouth. "Hey Chris, am I?" "You're dead!" Alright, cool.

One thing I've realised is never believe anything the filmmakers tell you before the film is made.  There were a few un-truths (can't remember what they were though) before TDK's release.

That said though - I think he is dead.

After 50 pages of debates, I posted that interview on BOF.  The dust has now settled.

I mean, we saw his body, funeral/public eulogy, etc.

Yep, Dent is dead. It was obvious from the start.

Wow, 50 pages?  I would've thought it was pretty obvious he was gone.

I think this whole thing is rather funny.  The previous franchise was criticized for killing the villains.  And yet, Ghul died in BB while Scarecrow survived.  Two Face died in TDK while the Joker survived.  In the old one, the Penguin died while Catwoman survived.  Two Face died while the Riddler survived.  And in B&R, neither villain died (onscreen anyway).

As of TDK, this "killing the villain" criticism is no longer allowed.  :)

Yet it could be argued this Batman did so twice.

It was obvious from the start of the movie, or the start of his fall?  :P

IMO, if the movie had spent less time with the whole Lau subplot and maybe saved the whole Coleman Reese storyline for a second sequel, the movie could have used the time to properly develop the love triangle, give us more Dent scenes so the Two-Face story doesn't seem so rushed, or worked on Rachel, so people would be more affected by her death.

That's quite beside the point, old chum.  :)  The point is that the previous franchise whacked three villains while the Nolan franchise has two (I don't consider Maroni a heavy-hitter so we're only counting Ghul and Two Face).

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

This applied to both Harvey and Batman

"You think I want to escape from this?"

No, Harvey didnt.

In a way Batman's decisions did end up killing two people, two very important people. Maybe Batman dosent kill, but people do die intentionally because of his bad decisions.
