Title: Selina Runs Off During Shrek's Electrocution Scene
Post by: lifesabitch on Thu, 25 Jul 2013, 04:29
If you look closely, you'll see her run off, and you'll hear her scream.

We know that the original ending did not feature Catwoman looking up at the bat signal. Was Selina's running away as the sparks flew done by Burton to give people hope that she survived? I can't believe they had the stunt people standing there with all those explosions going off.

I read on the "Siouxsie and the Banshees and Other Creatures" fansite once (of all places) that Burton had to cancel directing the "Face to Face" music video because the test audience's reaction to the ending had been so overwhelmingly negative. Apparently you saw Catwoman geniunely die with Max Schreck in the Artic World Pavillion.

In the comic book adaptation of that scene from DC you do see two shadowy bodies next to the generator looking electrocuted and burnt. Even though you also see Catwoman's alleyway shadow as in the movie on the last page too. Perhaps it was originally intended to be a figment of Bruce's imagination.
