Title: Batman Forever with elfman music
Post by: BatmanFanatic93 on Thu, 31 Jan 2013, 18:55
Howdy everyone i thought i'd make a post that is out of my "Batman Forever:Tim burton Edition" project and do something else.
Alright now what i read from here and different sites about batman some fans say that elfman music wouldn't match the schumacher batman films at all but i have to disagree cause since being a fan of both schumachers and burton's batman i believe elfman CAN match well with schumacher films if constructed well with the action and dialog  :-\

Here i have some rough cut demos of batman forever and batman and robin recutted action and dialog with elfman music

Tell me what you think once you are done  ;)

It's like watching another movie. Surprisingly, it had the strongest effect on Batman & Robin; it brought more gravity to the fight. I also like the various edits that were made. I may stand alone on this, but I'm fine with Robin's jokes. Since the comics, he's always seems to brighten the mood in light of Batman's dreary personality. It would have made more sense to see the ice skates, though.

But anyways, it's all awesome. Are you planning on making larger edits, or just experimenting?

Thanks Slash Man and your not alone on the robin subject hence why i kept his comedic relief lines for him in the edit and for my plans to continue my cuts the answer is yes infact i'm currently working on batman forever:tim burton edition with a friend but for batman and robin i'm kinda experimenting with that one myself cause batman forever can be sorta easily edited to be a worthy sequel or final entry to the batman saga if done right but for batman and robin is quite the hard to do.

Very Nice.

I've done similar things in the past, but I tend to supplement the Batman scores with other Elfman pieces for the new villains; Two-Face=Darkman, Riddler=To Die For & the Jar suite, Mr. Freeze=Edward Scissorhands (sounds like blasphemy but it really helps Freeze come across more tragic), Poison Ivy=Nightbreed (the suite from Music For A Darkened Theater, I don't have the Nightbreed album yet).

I think you picked a better cue for the museum than I did. :)

Wow you know what?I had the same idea of using more different elfman scores for the villains like two-face,riddler,mr.freeze,bane and poison ivy as well but felt i would loose the continuity by putting the lesser dark scores for the villains but now that i think about it it may help just use different themes for them instead of re using the same ones I.E joker, penguin and catwomans theme as theirs btw you know good elfman music that could match well with the two-face escapes, bruce's problem and sceret for the batcave?

Are you referring to The Arkham escape from the deleted scenes or the helicopter and party scenes for Two-Face?
If by Bruce's problem you mean the red book scenes, I would probably use Childhood Remembered a.k.a. Dream/Challenge/Tender Batcave.

The Arkham escape,Bruce Thinking about quitting being batman,And secrets of the batcave aka man-bat scene.Originally when i did the opening to the arkham escape scene i added the finale part 1 score or in other words the death of penguin (which i like to call it) where after the wb logo background turns blue we cut to black after a white flash (with thunder and rain in the background of course)and then play scene as it is with the main credits both outside and inside arkham and after the "The bat must die" writing we go to the original batman forever logo and fade into gotham city but after viewing both batman and batman returns i wanted to do an extended version with the arkham escape scene using a clip from batman and robin and kinda do it to match the style of batman returns where it plays out originally then the main credits fade in after the writing on wall kinda like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=L4HczEQaVCc but i can't seem to choose the correct elfman music to make it flow well with the other scores got any ideas? :-\

I always thought the scene where Dick finally suits up as Robin and they go off in the batwing and batboat could have been greatly improved with a better score, specifically the elfman one.
