A very nice thing. Since they provided the bat, the cat and the penguin poster - I assume we'll be getting something from each. At least I hope so.
Ah, cool beans.
Awesome... can't wait to see Pfeiffer's Catwoman.

I think I'm going to pass out.
Pretty cool. I just wish Mattel's Movie Masters would jump on the band wagon.
Im just wondering how much it will be
I'm guessing they'll be around the same price of the 89 Keaton Batman... $230? Although Pfeiffer's Catwoman had a lot less "accessories"... The taser and the bullwhip are all I can think of...so it may be a bit cheaper :)
This is getting out control I love batman but charging for an action figure as much as a very game console or more is rather stupid

Not sure about that. I can see them upping her price due to how popular it will undoubtedly be.
that sucks. :( i wanted one! :'(
For example:
Nicholson's Joker figure is $264.99
Keaton's Batman figure is $239.99
There was a big deal made about securing Nicholson's likeness, and thus the price reflected that.
maybe michelle won't be so anal about her likeness and it'll be cheaper?
wishful thinking. :(

That's possible. But, if you average out the price of Hot Toys figures... they are around $200 USD. About half of their figures break the $200 mark and the other half remain below that.
I think Nicholson (to this day) still gets $$ on his Joker likeness, which is likely why there was a price hike on that figure.
I suppose it really depends on whether Catwoman has a removable mask... how many accessories there are... the cost of whatever material they use to make her costume (vinyl or leather?)... So maybe the price will be similar to Keaton's Batman.

Hmm... I wonder if Keaton made a buck off Hot Toys?
Anyone remember the Movie Maniacs line by McFarlane toys? Or the Sleepy Hollow line? Even though the level of detail is nothing compared to what Hot Toys is doing, IMO the quality of these figures holds up even today by the standards of their size (less than 20cm tall if I remember right) and their price. They were cheaper than an unused PlayStation game. These were high quality figures/"statues" aimed at collectors and film buffs, and yet they were almost as cheap as the "standard" action figures made by Kenner, Mattel or ToyBiz.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Hot Toys produced those high quality products based on the Burton films, it shows these classic films still have an audience and people that respect them (and ready to pay hundreds of dollars to get products related to them, if they can afford it), but, personally, I would be fine with smaller, less detailed, but more affordable figures. I wish they also made smaller versions at about 40-50 dollars each.
Its still stupid
The cost is justified. Look at the quality, the articulation, the packaging... the research and time that it takes to get the molds just right, etc. It doesn't mean I enjoy paying $200+ for a figure... but that's just the reality of it. I had a character made into a "maquette" that I created about 2 years ago and getting that 3D-printed cost me nearly $600, so to get something of this quality for the price isn't too bad. I'm curious to know what their markup is. I'd imagine its at least 40-50%...
Justified thats a load of crap I can get a blu ray player or a game console for cheaper I dont care how good it looks it still a dumb price thats all I got to say about that
no way in hell i'm paying $300 for a TOY. no matter what it is.
i agree with whoever said the people that do the movie masters stuff should make some. of course the nolan fanboy pricks will mess that up with their bitching, so it'll never happen. ugg they make me so ANGRY. i want to boycott tdkr just because of the sobs. first one that says anne hathaway is a better catwoman than michelle is going to DIE.

You're comparing apples and oranges, mate. Many of the parts of Blu-ray players and game consoles are
mass produced (hundreds of thousands, if not in the millions) on assembly line machines. These Hot Toys figures are produced at a limited quantity, and many of them are
hand painted.

your not going to convice me to buy one of those action whether it limited or not whether it looks good or look like crap
*headslap* You're completely missing the point. I'm not trying to convince you to buy one... I'm proving a point that there's a reason why the price is so high.

keep your hands to yourself unless your hitting yourself and thats not the only reason that price is high
Gotta agree with catwoman here. I will probably go see it (not confirming that yet though) but my god are these Nolanites ever annoying. We all know they've already came to the conclusion Hathaway will top Pfeiffer. I actually wonder if some of these clowns who crap on the Burton films so much are the little kids who saw batman returns and got scared and had their moms pressure for the shumacher garbage.

You didn't back up anything you said with anything valid. You're like a kid who says "I don't like that" and then pouts. Grow up, and quit being hostile.

funny considering your the one has to use name calling
But I'll put it way you understand that they need a profit like any business and making limited may help but they must not be thinking of the work class people especially those times to make it the price it is

You mean
you're the one. And I never called you a name. ::)
I mentioned the profit margin that Hot Toys (likely) has in posts previous to this one. They're a business,
of course they want to make a profit. You're stating something that was already understood. Also, Hot Toys doesn't have to appeal to any "class"... They sell their product at a price they set, and whoever can afford it can afford it. They're not concerned about collectors who have less money in their pockets, they simply can't be... they aren't a charity. I don't really see any further point in continuing this discussion with you.

Sorry about that... I'm partially to blame, no doubt... When someone is willfully ignorant of points being made, I sometimes forget to just ignore. ;)

I reckon you should watch the films in sequential order first, and then listen to the scores (once again, in sequential order) afterwards. :)

So guys, when are these figures getting released ?
I don't think Hot Toys has given an official release. I would suspect that we'll get them early in 2013 (A year on from the first Keaton release?)
Annoying they can't get these into stores for the 20th anniversary AND at Christmas. Yet they can get Dark Knight Rises out. What a missed opportunity.
