Are you a fan of Batman Returns?
If so, then I would like to invite you to take part in a live recording of a Batman Returns commentary track to be released in 2012 as part of a new ongoing feature to celebrate the films.
Recordings will take place between June and October of this year, 2011, in several sessions (depending on the numbers taking part).
As we would like the released track to be of the highest quality we will be using Skype where possible.
If you are interested then PM me (http://www.batman-online.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=1), reply here
or if you are not a member of the site email commentary@batman-returns.com

I'm thinking this would be the perfect occasion to unveil my voice to the world.
What do you guys think?

Absolutely!
The passion is there for BR. I'll see how it goes.
As this is to be recorded this year - aired next year, I fear my reveal may be posthumous. ???
The reason for the late release is that the different sessions will need to be edited into 1 commentary track.
Cool. I'm looking forward to it, and I'll certainly participate in at least one of the recordings!
Paul, on a similar topic, do you have a link to the recording made for the first Batman commentary from two years ago, or the live text commentary? I've struggled to find it. Thanks!
I'm in! If anyone wants to take part of testing out this format with the first film, I'm also game.

It's the plan to have a commentary section (of sorts) on the site for loads of things, so 89 would be a must!
In case I have been vague about the process of making this the plan is:
Sessions are recorded while watching the film.
To have different recording sessions with different people (so every one can get involved and there aren't people talking over each other).
The best of these recordings would then be merged into 1 track in sync with the movie.
I would like everyone involved to pick their favourite part of the movie as well. That way everyone gets their views heard on the track about what matters to them most.

Thanks Paul. Much appreciated! Don't worry if you can't find the old recording, although I trust that any future commentaries will be permanently-accessible from the site from the aforementioned 'commentary section' when it commences?
I'd love to take part this time (even though my English accent is worse than Arnie's, lol) we'll see. My possible participation would require an additional subtitle track. :)
I don't think that one turned out great, due the low phone quality. Skype gives out a better output. The only thing that I would ask it to watch the film with head phones on a computer or on mute for the clearest recording.

If everything works out and I'm in, I know that I will write down my comments some time before this takes place. English being a second language is a prime reason for this, I think it's better to prepare the text. My
favourite part is the brief scene just before the Cemetery, when Batman patrols in the car while the Penguin writes down his list. I hope you don't mind me sounding like the Chechen from
The Dark Knight, I've spent some time in the UK in the past so I think my English isn't incomprehensible, but I still have an accent.

SilentEnigma, if your spoken English is half as eloquent as your written English I'm certain your comments for the commentary will be extremely worthwhile.
Thanks for this comment man :)
I'd love to be part of this. It's one of the most important films to me, and I'd love to talk about why!!!
I recently got to see it on the big screen (in print) preceded by the film it was inspired by ("Repulsion") as part of the Tim Burton exhibition that was in Toronto from November 2010 - April 2011.... I also got to meet Tim!!!!

Sweet!
I'd be interested, but don't have skype or anything, oh well :'(
For anyone interested perhaps I can offer some suggestions for getting involved.
In case you didn't know, Skype is free to install and to use.
You can use the following with Skype:
An internet phone
A headset
A microphone and seperate headphones (like you get with a walkman)
If you have an iphone, android or symbian phone you can get a Skype app and use that
If you can't use any of the suggestions above we would still like to have you involved so we can try and explore other avenues
I'll do this...
Just a thought, would it be possible to do a text chat too? I dont know how easy or whatever but again, just a thought
This is excellent news! It may be my very first one!
I am definitely interested in participating.
That's great guys!
Ral, what time-frame did you have in mind for commencing the recording of the commentary?

Sometime between June and October. As I said before, it would be done in a series of "sessions" that will be edited together...that way everyone gets a chance to talk about the bits that really matter and everyone is not talking over each other.
Some people have already done so but anyone else interested in taking part should PM me:
1. Your location
2. Best day/time to record for you
3. Favourite scenes you want to talk about most
4. Your real name preferably so I am not talking to "avatars" during the recording :)
Have you started any work on this yet, Paul?
Not yet Kamdan.
