Hey guys, I'm thinking of starting a petition to have WB to produce a direct to DVD animated movie which will follow Batman and BR in the style of the first two. Basically, it's a chance for Tim Burton to make the third movie that he would have made had he not been replaced as director. Is there any interest?
I'd be interested in anything that serves as a conclusion. I do think it will happen in the form of an animated picture. But, I think it will happened after the conclusion of this new trilogy ans the hype dies down and Fan interest Burton/Bat gears back up.
Its no secret that I, along with pretty much everyone else on this board, would love to see what Burtons 3 would have been. Realistically though, I think a novelization would probably be the way we could get it.
Thats the likely outcome. A graphic Novel would be smashing.
(Go look at my Charater specfic forever posters!}
Not going to happen. A petition can't make someone do something that they don't want to do, and Burton doesn't want any further part of Batman.
Actually, a animated version of Batman 3 sounds like a great idea. With the appropriate Burton atmosphere and Keaton, Pfeiffer and Billy Dee Williams lending their voices. It's unlikely, though. A graphic novel illustrated by Burton and his art department would be a brilliant alternative too.

I think this is the most likely scenario out of the three possibilities listed. I would love to see an animated film, or a graphic novel, in the Burton 'world of story.' But I'm not sure we'll see that anytime soon, if at all.
You know what I'd like to see, it'd never happen, but I'd love it anyway. A CGI/Mo-cap sequel set in the Burton-verse. Batman looks like Keaton etc. It would be awesome.
I'd love anything. As long as it comes from Burton himself. I just want to know what exactly he would have done with a 3rd installment.

That seems to be a growing media these days, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Let's face it, if Burton did it and went the mo-cap route for the movie, Keaton would definitely do it. It would be a completely new experience for him (something he seems to relish) it would be a return to a character and Director he loved working with and he wouldn't have to wear the suit.
We need to try to get into contact with someone. It wouldnt hurt to throw the idea out there to show the interest.
Agreed. No matter how unlikely it might be, if we don't ask then the answer is "no".
I would have atleast liked to have seen a feature on the 89 or Returns dvd, were Burton disscussed what his ideas were. Other than " I had some ideas, but um ya know WB acted like they didn't want me back, so I decided against it." I'm sure Burton had some idea of what he was going to do for Batman 3.
At the very least I'd like to hear about it.

Personally, it really doesnt matter if it's a animated film, or a graphic novel. The chance to see what Burton truly may have had in mind for his version of Batman 3 would be a real treat for us fans either way you slice it.
Of course, I would perfer a animated version. But I would gladly accept a graphic novel. But lord (IE WB and Burton in this case) knows when that will ever happen.
I heard a rumour a while back that they were going to make a 3rd Burton Batman but film it in the same stye as the movie Beowulf but im pretty sure that isn't happening.
ive been saying this for a long time, this should happen!
What have you been saying for a long time a Animated Movie or a Motion Capture Movie??. As long as it has a Dark Tone to it, Danny Elfmans's music and Michael Keaton i'm happy :D.
Why don't the fans do something themselves - like the guy that recreated the un-made episode of the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon?
It's not very realistic, but I'd love to see a "Batman III" graphic novel with the finale of the Burtonverse (it's the best we can hope for, I think). This talk about animated or mo-cap film sounds fantastic, but I think the budget and the expected gains for a graphic novel are very different compared to those things, not to mention that if it's to be scored by Danny Elfman himself, there you have the budget of 220 graphic novels! Maybe a graphic novel is the most realistic "fantasy" one can have about this.
can't someone suggest the noir (dark) look for upcoming batman movies to WB , and thats it!!
this way we could have a darker movie with nolan , & maybe it will get close enough to batburton movies
what even shoud count is to have the same art director of the BR bo welsh , the one of the 89 anton furst is gone !!
suggesting the look of the movie and an art director would be lot easier to do than suggesting a substitute for whom made a blockbuster this year with tdk
and more satisfying than 3d-movie, graphic novel , or a childish animated movie!! . . . . . . . in theory
Great idea, I'm all for it. I am dying to see where the 3rd film would have gone.
Quotecan't someone suggest the noir (dark) look for upcoming batman movies to WB , and thats it!!
Nolan should stay as far away from Burton's Batman style as humanly possible he already has his own style that everyone seems to love and although i have nothing agaisnt Nolan himself he and his Batuniverse will be horrible if mixed with Burton/Keatons Dark batworld.
he and his Batuniverse will be horrible if mixed with Burton
i think that is
individually opinable , moreover i would say that noir styled movies are not necessary attributed to someone's genre (like burton in this case) , they are something anyone can use , without beeing quoted to be inspired to someone as to some genre ,
in fact no one would say that because of the more light in nolan's batmovies he took the idea from schumaker.
i would like to add finally that the succes of nolan films are because not of the cast , art design , or else but because most likely of the plot and missing aimings to younges odeons (like in Bf B&R) , and that wont be effected too much by changing the surface appearance on the movie (if dark or more dark , or 1910 french architectures instead of newer ones)
DocLathropBrown:
why you are so negative about every petition we are trying to do???
it's like you don't really want those tings to come out, "there's no worst fight than the one you don't fight". this kind of forum are perfect for people do a petition, what's your problem? i mean you really want we to say nothing about any petition, are you some kind of Nolan (Burton hater) fan?
WB: LET TIM BURTON FINISH HIS TRILOGY!!!
ok i'll have to admit you are right !! i was sent from the nolan fan site over here!!.... :)
just joking...my favorite is "BR"
but i have to tell the true , i liked very much the nolan movie too , but overall "BR" is my favorite , its just that i consider to have the best of the 2 (burton + nolan) in one single movie , and i consider the facts (that sadly there wont be a burton for batman movie anymore) ,althou i remember a collaboration of burton in "batman forever" that had not quite positive results as the first two , i was hoping for the same maybe for the feature but with nolan or at least some of the staff that worked with burton to work with nolan and having the perfet batmovie for all
anyway everyone here is convinced that one part have all the best in everything , so i give up , and agree to ask the same thing for this petition all together to have more pssibilities to obtain something , i will participate on what the others will do , just let me know what to do , and whom to ask that to
Good on you ZUPERZERO for saying that i agree LET TIM BURTON FINISH HIS TRILOGY!!!
I have no prob with Nolan's films i do think there a bit overated but i still find them enjoyable and unlike the Nolanites im not going to rip someone apart for liking them.
I just don't want Nolan stealing the things that make Burton's movies so great just to inprove his own, he already has the world wrapped around his finger and it will lead to even more anoying fans which im sick to death of, he already has a winning style and should stick to it.
I just don't want Nolan stealing the things that make Burton's movies so great just to inprove his own
i just care more about having what we want from a batman movie instead of the Carrear of burton or nolan , even if i takes what you said , they'll remain two successful directors , i don't think of too much harm for one of them or another
anyways how and who all of you will contanct for the petition?did someone figure that out?
I understand where your coming from and respect that but i still would perfer Burton do his own movie to finish of his trilogy and do it with no other directors.
Quoteanyways how and who all of you will contanct for the petition?did someone figure that out?
Not sure but i would love for this petition to get off the ground.
I wonder what Burtons Batman 3 would have been called.
Batman Legends
Batman Redemption
Batman Reborn
Batman Forever
Batman Triumphant
Batman Reappears
etc etc...
I've always liked Batman Triumphant
as for the petition?maybe we should email wb or dc directly , or email them and ask them about giving us a clue on wich deaprtment to contact?any ideas?

I think it should be called that! Penguin comes back, turns out he wasn't dead after all and tries to win the hearts of gothamites once again! He also reunites with his estranged family! An adventure for the whole family. Rated: F
And the subtitle should be Penguin Returns: Guest starring Batman
Cast
Penguin: Danny Devito
Alfred: Michael Gough
Commissioner Gordon: Pat Hingle
Chief Ohara: James Doohan
Aunt Harriet: Judy Dench
Batman: George Clooney
Directed by Tim Burton

I have hopes for that, too. But I would never want an animated film. Give me a live cinematic feature like his first two.
